My Experience in Madrid- Spain
In September 2008 I visited Madrid to study, it was a brief stay but probably one of the most important experiences in my life. For six months I shared an apartment with roommates from different parts of the world and two guys from a European program called ¨Erasmus¨. I’m American and it was the first time I was in Spain, I found the situation totally new. The first question I asked was if I could live near the university where it would be the fast and straightforward. The second was if I would be near the center of the city where I could leave for the night and walk from my house if it was possible, also I wanted to share an apartment with people my age and I wanted to improve my Spanish level. Without a doubt it was not easy to find a place with these characteristics, I tried looking on the internet for many days without luck, I asked a friend who had be doing the TEFL with Canterbury English in Madrid. I looked at their web page to see the different places that interested me and I looked at how to contact them from the United States about the rent of rooms and prices in the zone for university Moncloa-City. I told them that’s what I was looking for and I adjusted what I would and could pay.
When I arrived in Madrid and saw the apartment, the quality of the rooms, I liked the decoration of the rooms, and was very happy about the WIFI connection so I could communicate with my parents and friends. For the first time I had the impression that I was sure of myself since the United States, about the apartment where I was staying. This is a sincere form to thank Madrid and all its generous people for all that they gave me.
Un saludo
Erasmus en España!
